Ethan: UPDATED AUGUST 2022 Accepting dedicated Viola and Violin students who want to excel

Ethan

Updated August, 2022. Ethan recently completed a year of graduate studies in viola performance at the Jacob's school of music at Indiana University where he studied with Atar Arad.

He completed his viola performance major at BYU in 2020, studying with Claudine Bigelow. He was a winner of the Concerto Competition at BYU in 2020 and soloed with the BYU Philharmonic. During his time at BYU he spent two years as the principal violist for the BYU Chamber Orchestra and in May of 2019 he toured to China with the BYU China Spectacular.

Ethan has attended Interlochen Summer Arts Camp on an Emerson Scholarship and member of the Advanced String Quartet Program. He has also spent three summers at the Meadowmount School of Music studying with Patricia McCarty. In 2019 he served as her teaching assistant and was responsible for giving supplemental lessons to many of the other violists at Meadowmount.

He has won many scholarships and awards for his playing and was a full scholarship student at the Gifted Music School while he was in High School. Ethan also served a mission to Japan! When he auditioned for graduate schools he was offered generous scholarships including a full scholarship to the Julliard China Graduate Program (which he could not accept because of world conditions in 2020).

Ethan offers weekly violin and viola lessons to serious students who are ready to move to the next level in their playing. His fee is $50 per hour. (30 minute lessons are $30 and 45 minute lessons are $40) Ethan offers a free trial lesson/consultation. You can contact him at 801-404-3819.
